Based on your affiliation with the military, you may be eligible for Veterans benefits.

Currently Serving

If you are currently serving in the military, you may be eligible for funding offered through the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance program. Prior to enrolling, check your eligibility with the VA to find out your status and the amount of assistance you qualify for based upon your service.

Veterans

If you served on Active Duty, you might be eligible for education benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Post-9/11 GI Bill ® provides financial support for educational and housing expenses to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2011, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

Wittenberg participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program which subsidizes tuition and fees not covered by the Post-9/11 Gill Bill ® benefits.

Pre-9/11 veterans may be entitled to educational funds paid under other veterans’ programs. To ascertain such matters as eligibility, exact benefit levels, and procedures, contact your regional VA representative and/or Kristen Feigel at feigelk@dos5.net.

Veterans Benefits & Transition Act of 2018

Wittenberg University complies with the Veterans Benefit & Transition Act of 2018. Compliance requires Wittenberg University to not impose late fees to students using veterans benefits during the first 90-days of initial enrollment at Wittenberg University. Students may attend all courses and have access to all facilities and services during the first 90-days of initial enrollment at Wittenberg University. During the first 90-days, Veterans Administration and the School Certifying Official (SCO) to initially certify all benefits and enrollment, and will prepare a roster for payment. Additionally, Wittenberg University cannot impose any penalties, late fees, or deny access to classes, facilities, or other services if there are delays to the disbursement of Veterans Benefits to Wittenberg University for Chapter 31 or 33 VA Benefits recipients.
